01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Madrid’s charming Retiro neighborhood, Café Sitio offers an inviting blend of Venezuelan, Spanish, and international breakfast and brunch delights that promise to make your morning memorable. This cozy, family-owned café is more than just a place to eat—it’s a warm, welcoming haven where attentive service and comforting flavors come together to create an authentic local experience.

At Café Sitio, the menu reads like a tasteful journey through fresh, handcrafted creations. Their focaccias are a must-try, especially the Pan De Maíz y Pollo Deshilachado, featuring tender shredded chicken paired with creamy white Latino cheese, wrapped in perfectly baked corn bread. For those seeking something with a lighter, Mediterranean twist, the Focaccia de Atún dazzles with a harmonious blend of tunafish, caramelized tomatoes, fresh tomato slices, and peppery arugula drizzled with exquisite extra virgin olive oil. Bagel lovers will find a haven here, particularly the Bagel de Salmón, a delicate ensemble of brioche bread, cream cheese, rich smoked salmon, fresh avocado, and crunchy alfalfa sprouts that bursts with freshness and velvety texture in every bite.

The café also satisfies sweet cravings with Venezuelan pastries alongside more familiar treats like the pistachio croissant. Pair any dish with a fresh natural juice, perfectly chilled at €3.50, or opt for one of their classic soft drinks to refresh your palate. Diners praise not only the incredible food but the genuine warmth of the staff—many note how the easygoing, friendly team goes beyond ordinary service to make guests feel truly at home.

The atmosphere at Café Sitio is relaxed and charming, complemented by ample seating downstairs and a bright, light-filled table upstairs, perfect for soaking in the morning sun. Whether you're stopping by for a wholesome breakfast, a leisurely weekend brunch, or just a quality cup of coffee accompanied by mouthwatering pastries, Café Sitio radiates a comforting neighborhood vibe that quickly turns first-time visits into regular stops. As one visitor put it, it's a place where “you feel at home,” making every visit feel like a cherished moment in Madrid.

My boyfriend and I were so lucky to stumble upon this cute café the other day. We shared a tortilla de patata and received a generous amount of bread on the side. The food itself was okay, but the real beauty of this cafe was the customer service. A young woman served us and she was an absolute wonder, extremely kind and polite, giving us the best café experience we had in all of Spain! If only more people were like her, the world would be a much nicer place! Go visit this place! can only recommend. Thank you!

Neighborhood cafe , family-owned and managed. The service is good, you feel at home which is a plus when you go for coffee, breakfast or brunch. They have Venezuelan pastries but also international stuff like bagels or Spanish like tortilla de patatas. They have a lot of tables downstairs and a bar + 1 table upstairs with natural light.

We visited this cafe early in the morning after traveling all the way from Portugal. The service was on another level, it is the most welcoming cafe that we have ever been to. The staff are very friendly and professional. Food & coffee is great and so is the atmosphere. Definitely recommend! Thank you very much for the great service !
